Employee medical, personal and employment information
Policies and procedures
Pending projects and proposals
Patient confidentiality is also governed by mandated State and Federal regulations that are subject to change; the corporation will adjust its policy and procedures to comply with these changes as they occur.
2. Confidential Information
Any knowledge acquired in the course of employee's work must be kept confidential. Employees are never to discuss medical, financial or personal information about a patient outside the practice. The fact that the patient has been seen at a client's office or hospital is a private matter which could cause embarrassment if it is mentioned outside the office.
3. Medical Records
Any information in the patient's medical record is strictly a matter of concern between the patient and the physician.
Medical records, telephone messages, x-ray and lab reports and other dictated reports will never be carelessly placed where information can be read by curious employees, visitors, or cleaning personnel.
Any request for information concerning a patient, or for copies of, or access to a patient's medical records must be released only with the express patient signed authorization, or the proper release.
